In 1847, Louis-François Cartier founded the Maison Cartier in Paris after 10 years of apprenticeship in a jewelry workshop. Louis Cartier, the grandson of Louis-François, was the most emblematic person of the brand, he is also the creator of certain emblematic creations, such as: Tank, Santos, platinum coins and others. In 1910, Louis Cartier met his muse and collaborator, Jeanne Toussaint, nicknamed "La Panthère" because of his strong and daring personality. As director of fine jewelry in 1933, she relaunched the inspiring Panthère collection in yellow gold as well as the themes of flora and fauna.

In 1983, Cartier launched its first eyewear collections: Les Must and Vendôme de Cartier. Today, Cartier is not only the most established brand in the jewelry and watch industry, but also a benchmark for contemporary luxury. Cartier creates exceptional glasses and develops each design from its own vocabulary, highlighting a distinctive creativity, exceptional know-how and iconic style, guided by a clear vision. Cartier eyewear is made in France by craftspeople with irreproachable craftsmanship from rich materials and precious stones. Cartier incorporates in its collection themes the emblematic models of the house. So we can find the Santos collection inspired by the Santos de Cartier watch designed for the aviation pioneer Santos-Dumont or even the Panthère de Cartier.
